In keeping with our commitment to holistic development children are encouraged to take part in team sports played at Catherine Mc Auley N.S. including football, hurling, basketball, dodgeball and hockey. The child benefits in a number of ways. S/he:
* Can display particular gifts and talents
* Has the opportunity for physical development
* Develops social skills including team work, fair play, self control, respect for peers and officials and enhanced self esteem.
For the last number of years the school has competed in Santry inter school athletics. 
In 2009 our relay team won a medal!
